Bariatric Surgery

Bariatric Surgery may be an option when excess weight poses a health threat. Doctors can perform this procedure as open surgery or a laparoscopy.

Cardiovascular Surgery

Our cardiovascular program provides a path to excellent heart health. Whether you arrive through the emergency room doors or the Shelton Heart Center, you will be entering a program unlike any other. Crittenton’s team of specialists is experts in:

  • Interventional Cardiology
  • Cardiac Arrhythmia
  • Cardiovascular Surgery (in partnership with the University of Michigan Health System)
  • Cardiac Rehabilitation

Crittenton has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for certification as a Primary Stroke Center. In addition, Crittenton is also recognized as being an accredited Chest Pain Center, which makes Crittenton the only hospital in the immediate area that is certified by the Society of Chest Pain Centers and the Joint Commission as a primary stroke center.

Dental and Oral Surgery

Our services include surgery for gum disease, cleft lip and cleft palate, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.

Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery

We offer surgery for head and neck cancer, hearing loss, and tonsil and adenoid removal.

General Surgery

General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland.  They also deal with diseases involving the skin, breast, soft tissue and hernias.

Gynecologic Surgery

Our surgeries for women include hysterectomy; fibroid removal; treatments for leaking urine, endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, infertility, and ectopic pregnancy; and tubal ligation (permanent birth control).

Orthopaedic Surgery

Home to the most advanced joint replacement center in Michigan, Crittenton provides a dedicated unit focused on your rapid recovery. Our multi-phased treatment philosophy is focused on all perspectives of patient care. Our advanced center provides you access to imaging services, labs, surgical and rehabilitation facilities. Crittenton also provides treatment for joint problems in other parts of the body, including spine, shoulder, feet and hands.

Plastic Surgery

Plastic and reconstructive surgeries are more popular than ever. Some are breast enlargement or lift, nose reshaping, tummy tuck, eyelid surgery, and liposuction to remove fat.

Robotic Surgery

Robotic technology takes surgery beyond the limits of the human hand, introducing precise, versatile instrument movement combined with three-dimensional visualization of the operative site. Crittenton Hospital Medical Center is leading the way when it comes to robotic tools. Crittenton has more than 20 surgeons on staff that is trained in robotic surgery in a number of fields. These include general surgery, gynecologic surgery, urology, and gynecologic oncology. Patient benefits of robotic surgery include:

Spine Surgery and Neurosurgery

The Crittenton Spine Center has both orthopaedic spine surgeons and neurosurgeons on staff.  We are able to offer the full spectrum of spine services from activity modification to physical therapy to more complicated procedures, with a coordinated treatment approach.  We offer a wide range of non-surgical techniques for pain management including physical therapy and injection therapy.

Urological Surgery

We offer a range of surgery services including treatments for bladder, urinary tract, and prostate problems; erectile dysfunction; incontinence; and kidney stones.
