Diabetes Services

If you have diabetes, or have recently been diagnosed, it’s important to know that you are not alone. More than 26 million Americans have diabetes – that’s 1 out of every 12 people. Finding a diabetes care center with certified nurses and registered dietitians specializing in managing diabetes can help you learn how your life might change, but also how you can manage your diabetes and get back to living a healthy, happy life.

Ascension Crittenton’s Diabetes Education & Nutrition Counseling Center is a certified care center with group or individual classes and appointments available. We work with your primary care physician to help teach you about diabetes, how to manage your care and continue to live a life you love.

Take the diabetes risk assessment quiz below and our team will contact you with your results and to offer more information about pre-diabetes and diabetes care.

Our certified diabetes specialists lead interactive small classes and support groups. Topics cover diabetes self-management, recipe alterations or tasty substitutes, grocery shopping guides, support, and others. Group classes also help connect you with people in your community. Call our office to learn about upcoming classes at 248-652-5660.

Individual sessions are ideal for patients newly diagnosed with diabetes. You will work with our nurse practitioners and registered dietitians on specialized diabetes education.

Specialized individual education includes:

  • Insulin instruction
  • Continuous glucose monitoring with 7-day sensor
  • Hemoglobin A1C testing on-site
