Prepared Childbirth Express

Knowing what to expect prior to the birth of your baby will go a long way towards helping prepare you and your family.  Whether you are planning to give birth naturally or with the assistance of medications, this class is designed to help an expectant mother and her support partner prepare for the birth of her baby.  For your comfort, we recommend completing this class 2-3 months before your due date. Please bring a blanket and 2 pillows. This condensed class includes the most important information covered in the 4-week series: Tips for staying comfortable at the end of pregnancy, How to know when labor begins, What to pack for the hospital, What to expect in labor through the birth of your baby, Techniques to help cope with the challenges of labor, Medical options for labor and delivery, Cesarean birth, Recovery after delivery, Normal newborns, And a tour of the Birthplace. There will be a break for lunch.  You may bring a lunch or purchase one at the coffee shop or a nearby restaurant.

Childbirth Education eClass (online class)

Our online childbirth class is the perfect alternative for busy parents needing a flexible class schedule or for moms on bed rest. Have you given birth before? This online class is a great refresher course! You’ll learn the same essential information as an on-site class, including what’s happening to your changing body, how you’ll know when you are really in labor, helpful comfort techniques, advice for partners, an overview of medical procedures, and much more. Understanding Birth: eClass, is a unique online learning experience that provides comprehensive, evidence-based information you can trust as you prepare for your upcoming birth. Included in your registration is a tour of the Birthplace at Crittenton and a skills session with one of our childbirth educators. Once registered, participants will receive an email with a link to the class as well as additional information within 2-3 business days.  You will have access to the website for 120 days from your first login.

Knowing what to expect prior to the birth of your baby will go a long way towards helping prepare you and your family.  Whether you are planning to give birth naturally or with the assistance of medications, this class is designed to help an expectant mother and her support partner prepare for the birth of her baby.  For your comfort, we recommend completing this series 2-3 months before your due date.  FREE with this class, online breastfeeding and baby care class.  Information will be provided at the class. Please bring a blanket and 2 pillows. This series includes: Tips for staying comfortable at the end of pregnancy, How to know when labor begins, What to bring to the hospital, What to expect in labor through the birth of your baby, Techniques to help cope with the challenges of labor, Medical options for labor and delivery, Cesarean birth, Recovery after delivery, Normal newborns, and a tour of the Birthplace. Class meets once a week, for 3 weeks, beginning on the date listed.

Prenatal Yoga

Join a community of expectant moms to help physically, mentally & emotionally prepare for childbirth. You will learn various gentle yoga poses and breathing techniques to help create ease and comfort during pregnancy and labor. This prenatal yoga class is for women at all stages of pregnancy and any fitness level.  No previous yoga experience necessary. Please consult your physician or midwife prior to participation.  3-week session. Please bring a yoga mat and pillows. Class Dates: January 9, 16 & 30 (NO CLASS 1/23)
