Wellness Series: General Radiology

Topic:  Radiology:  The Good, The Rad and the Revolutionary Presenter:  Katharine Scharer, MD Katharine Scharer MD General Radiology most often refers to diagnostic x-rays used to help identify disease or injury inside the body.  Radiologists are able to see inside the body to detect injury and disease, often in its early stages when the illness or injury is most treatable.  The basic radiology exams including general radiology, CT Scans, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine Scans, & PET/CT Mammography will be covered.  Radiation dose and more advanced radiology exams including 3-D breast tomosynthesis, low dose CT for lung cancer screening, CT for lung cancer screening, CT and MRI of the heart will be discussed in addition.  August 25, 2016 Light refreshments at 6:30pm provided by Great Oaks Country Club.  Image result for great oaks country club Lecture 7pm Free
