Tai Chi For Beginners

This 4-week series is ideal for those that are new to Tai Chi.  Tai Chi is a gentle, yet effective way to exercise the body at any age. Tai Chi based on the Yang 24 tai chi form.  Tai Chi movements are low-impact and gentle.
  • A regular tai chi practice will help build muscle strength and endurance with minimal stress on your muscles and joints.
  • Tai Chi is effective in improving static and dynamic balance, which is important in preventing fall and injuries.
  • Suitable for every fitness level and every age!
Wear loose and comfortable clothes, bring water, and no floor mat required Dates:

A Matter of Balance

Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activites. A Matter of Balance is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels.  This program emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls. *  Classes meet for 8 sessions*  Each class is 2 hours You Will Learn To: *  view falls as controllable *  set goals for increasing activity *  make changes to reduce fall risks at home *  exercise to increase strength and balance Who Should Attend? *  anyone concerened about falls *  anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength *  anyone who has fallen in the past *  anyone who has restricted activities because of falling concerns Workshop instructors:  Registered Nurse and a licensed Physical Therapist. This program is being offered in partnership with the Area Agency on Aging 1-B FREE September 28 & 30, 2015 October 5,12,14,19,21,& 28, 2015 Time 1:30pm-3:30pm Location:  Crittenton Hospital Medical Center                     Rochester, MI  48307  FREE.  Registration is mandatory.
