This comprehensive program allows you to see everything you need via an easy-to-use website and guidebook.  Learn at your own pace in your own home.  This program focuses on breastfeeding your newborn, baby care and safety, as well as mother care post-delivery. Childbirth Education eClass

Understanding Birth: eClass, is a unique online learning experience that provides comprehensive, evidence-based information you can trust as you prepare for your upcoming birth. In this class, you’ll learn all about the birth process and medical procedures through instructive video clips, animations, and interactive games. You’ll also get a sense of what labor’s really like as you watch several complete birth stories, and you’ll even have an opportunity to create your own birth plan! Included in your registration is a tour of the Birthplace at Crittenton and a skills session with one of our childbirth educators. Once registered, participants will receive an email with a link to the class as well as additional information within 2-3 business days.  You will have access to the website for 60 days from your first login.

Prepared Childbirth 4-week Series

Knowing what to expect prior to the birth of your baby will go a long way towards helping prepare you and your family.  Whether you are planning to give birth naturally or with the assistance of medications, this class is designed to help an expectant mother and her support partner prepare for the birth of her baby.  For your comfort, we recommend completing this series 2-3 months before your due date.  Please bring a blanket and 2 pillows. Tai Chi

Tai Chi is designed for people of varied ages and physical abilities seeking a gentle exercise routine, improved mobility, balance, breathing and relaxation.  This Arthritis Foundation program uses Sun style Tai Chi, one of the four major recognized styles of Tai Chi. The movements don't require deep bending or squatting, which makes it easier and more comfortable to learn. Practicing Tai Chi has also been credited with improved musculoskeletal strength and cardiovascular health and is a safe and effective way for people to maintain bone density.   7-week course.

Preparing for Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding provides the best nutrition for infants as well as a unique relationship between mother and baby.  This class will answer your questions and help you get off to the best possible start as a nursing mother.  A registered nurse/certified lactation consultant teaches the class.  Registration includes both mom and her partner.  Your insurance company may reimburse you for the cost of this class. This program covers adult, child and infant CPR; one and two rescuer CPR; foreign body airway obstruction, mouth-to-mask, bag mask and use of an automatic external defibrillator. With successful completion of a written test and demonstration of CPR skills, an American Heart Association completion card is given.

ACLS Skills Session

American Red Cross Babysitter Safety Training

Taught by a certified instructor, this interactive class is designed to teach the skills of babysitting. Participants must be at least 11 years old. We recommend taking Friends & Family CPR in addition to the Babysitter training. Fee includes a babysitter handbook, CD-ROM with additional materials, and certification.  Certificates are e-mailed at the completion of class. Participants are to be dropped off and picked up directly from the classroom. Please bring a doll or stuffed animal to practice diapering. Also bring a lunch and beverage for class.
