One day in March my wife, Bonnie, was exhibiting symptoms of a stroke. She was quickly rushed to Crittenton by ambulance where we were met by the Crittenton team. At this point her symptoms had started to subside, but the doctors recommended keeping her overnight for observation and tests to ensure she was OK.
It was lucky that she stayed at Crittenton. Bonnie suffered from a major stroke the following night, affecting the entire left side of her body. She has had previous health problems and because of the stroke, the doctors proceeded very cautiously to ensure she would have the best possible recovery. The doctors and staff in ICU were amazing and encouraging with her.
After many days, Bonnie was transferred to the rehabilitation unit. The hospital’s rehab doctors, program director, therapists, nurses, aides and social worker, also known as “The Blue Team”, were wonderful. They all continued to motivate Bonnie. Thanks to their care and concern, she will be able to continue her road to recovery with a positive outlook. They truly are extremely professional and caring individuals. My wife and I will be forever grateful for the excellent care and therapy she has received from Crittenton and for giving us the hope for her full recovery.
