Crittenton Foundation Golf Benefit raises more than $200,000

ROCHESTER, Mich. — The Crittenton Foundation celebrated its 34th Golf, Tennis & Fun Run on Monday, June 17th at Great Oaks Country Club in Rochester. More than 300 guests and 100 sponsors supported the event.

“We raised more money this year than in the history of the event,” said Melinda Conway Callahan, President, Crittenton Foundation. The golf benefit raised over $200,000 to support the hospital’s South Tower Project. More than 200 individuals participated in the Fun Run 5K on Saturday, June 15, which was new to the event this year thanks to the sponsorship of Genisys Credit Union. Prizes were awarded to the top three finishers in each division. The benefit continued on Monday, June 17 with a full day at Great Oaks Country Club including breakfast, tennis, morning and afternoon golf, lunch, silent auction, raffles and strolling dinner. Over 200 golfers and an additional 90 dinner guests were in attendance.

Michelle’s Bio-Tech Linen Services was the Title Sponsor of the event for the second year. “My parents showed me that a good life is about people, not things. Crittenton is more than just a building. Crittenton is our neighbor, and that’s why I support the Golf, Tennis & Fun Run.” A total of 96 businesses and individuals also sponsored the event.

This year’s silent auction featured over 100 donated items valued at over $20,000. Featured items included a two night stay at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, a Champagne Dinner Cruise on a 42 foot sailboat for four people, an iPad 4, two VIP tickets to the Parade Company’s rooftop party and fireworks and a custom made men’s suit or sport coat and slack from LeConte.

Proceeds from this event will support the Crittenton Foundation’s Cornerstone Campaign for construction of the newSouthTower. TheSouthTower will provide the space necessary for new medical technology, 87 private patient rooms and centers for medical education. The tower will open to patients in January 2014.
