The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Greater Detroit Chapter will recognize Fredrick Maibauer, MD and Ernestine Pixley as a Distinguished Volunteer at its Annual National Philanthropy Day (NPD) Dinner, Wednesday, November 13, 2013.
Distinguished Volunteers are the advocates, leaders, and mentors whose passion for their respective causes inspire philanthropic action and community involvement in southeast Michigan. Fredrick Maibauer is best described as “dedicated.” He is a member of the Crittenton Foundation Board of Directors and the Hospital Board of Trustees. Dr. Maibauer has served as the volunteer physician for Crittenton’s Wellness Center at the Older Persons’ Commission since 2008. He is a generous donor and advocate for the Crittenton Foundation. Ernestine “Ernie” Pixley is best described as “wonderful.” She is a Director of the Foundation Board and a generous donor, most recently supporting the hospital’s rehabilitation unit. She is a lifetime member of the Crittenton Auxiliary, beginning her service in 1966 as one of the hospital’s first volunteers. Ernestine inspires others through her quiet leadership and steadfast commitment to the Crittenton Foundation.
