Want to Keep Track of Your Health?
There’s an app for that.
We live in an age where people are constantly on the search for the newest technology, so it is not surprising to learn about the broadening capabilities of smartphones and how they can make your life easier. However, you may not realize that a number of apps are available to help you take control of your health as well.
While apps can’t take the place of regular physician appointments, they can help you keep track of physical activity, calorie intake, and a number of other factors. Some apps can use the phone’s built-in GPS technology to log the distance and pace of your workout, as well as the calories you burn, while others can help you keep track of information for conditions like diabetes and help ensure your stick to your medication schedule.
While many apps are free, some can cost as much as $10, and they are not regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Always seek the advice of your physician if you have questions or concerns about your health.
